Welcome
My counseling practice is designed to enhance your insight, provide you with information, and help you develop strategies to improve your overall health and sexual satisfaction.
Chances are if you found your way to my website you are struggling with your health, sexuality, or sexual relationship.
Everyone, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, partnered status, or age will face health and sexual problems throughout life. Medical providers and therapists are not always able to help due to time constraints or limited knowledge about sexuality. This leaves many people suffering needlessly and not knowing who to ask for help. My background in women’s health and sexuality counseling helps close a gap in care that you may have encountered with other health care providers.
Evelyn Resh CNM, MPH, CSC, MSN
Certified Nurse-Midwife, sexuality counselor, writer, and speaker in clinical practice since 1992.

• Reigniting a sexual relationship after separation or divorce.
• Managing and/or improving low or absent sexual desire.
• Difficulty having orgasms.

• Desire discrepancies between partners.
• Effects of negative self-image on sexual activity.
• Sexual concerns related to peri- and post-menopause.
• Life-style choices and their impact on sex.
• Vaginal pain/dryness with sex because of menopause, medication, or surgery.
• Limited knowledge about sex.
• Pre-marital sexual counseling.
• Assessment, triage, and referral for trauma- influencing sexual activity.
• Post-child-birth experiences and their relationship to sexual function.
What Differentiates Sex Counseling from Sex Therapy?
Sexuality counselors are solution focused practitioners that act in an advisory role to help you achieve a more satisfying sexual life. Additionally, as a medical provider I have the skills to diagnose and treat many health issues that negatively impact sexual activity. Sex therapists neither diagnose or treat medical problems but focus instead on behavioral and mental health issues.
My counseling practice is focused on helping you clarify your goals and develop a realistic plan for achieving them.
I do not provide intensive, long-term psychotherapy for complex or chronic mental health problems. Should I determine this is needed I will refer you to my sex therapy colleagues or other appropriate practitioners.
Why Work with Me?
I have been in practice for over 35 years and my perspective on women’s health and sexuality is uniquely influenced and enhanced by my diverse educational background in midwifery and women’s health, general medicine, public health and human sexuality.
I make every effort to consider the whole person in temperament, knowledge about sexuality, life-circumstances, and goals when advising them on strategies to enhance their sexual satisfaction.
Because of my years in practice, I understand the impact that chronic health problems, childbirth, aging, surgeries, and overall health can have on sexual activity.
My clinical practice style is warm, highly personalized, integrative in nature, and solution-focused.
